Spring/Summer Look: Inspiration & Ideas

INSPIRATION:

Make-up & Hair Moodboard

For this Urban Decay inspired look I am going to focus on Springtime inspired images rather than Summertime, and so created the moodboard above in order to help me gather my ideas together.  Through research, I found a lot of pastel colours and various plaiting techniques.  When designing ideas for this look, I will take into consideration the above images as my inspiration.  Initially for my Urban Decay inspired Spring look I think I will play around with pastel colours around the eyes and on the lips too, however I would also like to test brighter colours on the lips with a more natural look for the rest of the face.  For the hair I will look explore with the plaiting techniques that we learnt previously in class, and I will look at possibly incorporating flowers into the hairstyle.

Above are three face charts that I have designed for my Urban Decay inspired Spring Look.  I have kept pastel shades and neutrals in my designs, because these are colours that I associate with Spring.  Below are the steps you would take to create these looks.

FACE CHART 1:
- Begin by applying Kryolan foundation and primer to the skin
- Contour using a darker shade of foundation and the powder around the nose creases to prevent any shine
- Darken the contour with a bronzing powder and apply Urban Decay's Naked Flushed blusher to the cheeks
- Prep the eyelids with Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion
- Fill in the eyebrows using Sleek's Au Naturel eyeshadow palette
- Apply Revolution's My Demons eyeshadow from their Ultimate Colour Chaos palette
- Coat the eyelashes with Rimmel London's Scandal Eyes mascara
- Finish by applying Bobbi Brown's Pink Gold lipgloss

FACE CHART 2:
- Begin by applying Kryolan foundation and primer to the skin
- Contour using a darker shade of foundation and the powder around the nose creases to prevent any shine
- Darken the contour with a bronzing powder and apply Illamasqua's Beg blusher to the cheeks
- Fill in the eyebrows using Sleek's Au Naturel eyeshadow palette
- Prep the eyelids with Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion
- Apply a pale blue eyeshadow across the eyelids and fade it out into Nooner eyeshadow from the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay, bringing it up by the brow bone
- Coat the eyelashes with Rimmel London's Scandal Eyes mascara
- Finish by applying Illamasqua's Move lipgloss

FACE CHART 3:
- Begin by applying Kryolan foundation and primer to the skin
- Contour using a darker shade of foundation and the powder around the nose creases to prevent any shine
- Darken the contour with a bronzing powder and apply Urban Decay's Naked Flushed blusher to the cheeks
- Prep the eyelids with Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion
- Fill in the eyebrows using Sleek's Au Naturel eyeshadow palette
- Apply Revolution's Over-bored eyeshadow from their Ultimate Colour Chaos palette
- Coat the eyelashes with Rimmel London's Scandal Eyes mascara
- Finish by applying Bobbi Brown's Raspberry Shimmer lipstick

Hair Chart

Above is the hair chart that I have designed for my Urban Decay inspired Spring Look.  When I think of a Spring inspired hairstyle, I always think of plaiting, which is why I have chosen a big fishtail plait. I think that a fishtail plait will work really well with the make-up designs that I have created because they are quite soft plaits and I plan to have small pieces of hair falling around my model's face to shape the make-up.
