Evening Look: Inspiration & Ideas

INSPIRATION:
Make-up & Hair Moodboard

For my Urban Decay inspired evening look, I would like to create a dark eye make-up, along with a dark lip and pushed back, volumed hair.  Above is my moodboard with some inspiration that I will take forward when creating my different designs for this look.  When researching for ideas, I came across a lot of smoky eyes and a variation between red lips and nude lips.  I think that for my look I will take forward the idea of a dark smoky eye and I am thinking of pairing that with a red-brown lip.  For the base, I will keep the foundation more matte but with a slight sheen to highlight the cheeks and I will create a contour to structure the face.  With the hair, I would like it to be off the face with slight curls and a lot of volume, similar to the  photo of the blonde model in the middle of the bottom row in my moodboard.

IDEAS:
Face Chart 1                                              Face Chart 2                                              Face Chart 3

Above are three face charts that I have designed for my Urban Decay inspired Evening Look.  I have used quite dark make-up for them all, because Urban Decay can have quite a vampy feel to it, which is what I wanted to translate through this look.  Below are the steps of how to create each look.

FACE CHART 1:
- Begin by applying Kryolan foundation and primer to the skin
- Contour using a darker shade of foundation and the powder around the nose creases to prevent any shine
- Darken the contour with a bronzing powder and apply Urban Decay's Naked Flushed highlighter to the cheekbones and down the nose
- Fill in the eyebrows using Sleek's Au Naturel eyeshadow palette
- Prep the eyelids with Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion
Apply Sleek's glittery dark blue eyeshadow from their Storm palette to the eyelids and along the lower lash line
- Coat the eyelashes with Rimmel London's Scandal Eyes mascara
- Finish by applying LC003 mixed with LC142 from the Kryolan lip palette

FACE CHART 2:
- Begin by applying Kryolan foundation and primer to the skin
- Contour using a darker shade of foundation and the powder around the nose creases to prevent any shine
- Darken the contour with a bronzing powder and apply Urban Decay's Naked Flushed highlighter to the cheekbones and down the nose
- Fill in the eyebrows using Sleek's Au Naturel eyeshadow palette
- Prep the eyelids with Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion
Apply Sleek's glittery dark green eyeshadow from their Storm palette to the eyelids and along the lower lash line
- Coat the eyelashes with Rimmel London's Scandal Eyes mascara
- Finish by applying MAC's Twig lipstick

FACE CHART 3:
- Begin by applying Kryolan foundation and primer to the skin
- Contour using a darker shade of foundation and the powder around the nose creases to prevent any shine
- Darken the contour with a bronzing powder and apply Urban Decay's Naked Flushed highlighter to the cheekbones and down the nose
- Fill in the eyebrows using Sleek's Au Naturel eyeshadow palette
- Prep the eyelids with Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion
- Apply Sleek's black eyeshadow from their Au Naturel palette to the eyelids and along the lower lash line and then top up with Blackheart from Urban Decay's Naked 3 palette
- Coat the eyelashes with Rimmel London's Scandal Eyes mascara
- Finish by applying MAC's Rebel lipstick and coating the eyeshadow in vaseline to give the eyes a glossy effect.

Hair Chart
Above is the hair chart that I have designed for my Urban Decay inspired Evening Look.  I was torn between whether or not to create a big volumed curly hair do or a sleek back hair look, but after looking at some of Urban Decay evening styled advertisements I opted for the big curls.  This is because Urban Decay always have quite messy hair, and it is rarely sleeked back.  Therefore I have chosen the curls in order for the look to fit more with my brand.
