This project, Beauty and the Brand, is based around make-up and hair for Fashion and Beauty. Fashion and Beauty is a key feature within industry, and I am looking forward to learning more about it and furthering my understanding in this area of work. Throughout this project, I will be working on a beauty brand that interests me, researching their background heritage and what sort of products they sell, before creating 6 different looks in the style of my chosen brand. These looks will include; 1 daytime image, 1 evening look, 1 Spring/Summer shoot, 1 beach look and an additional image depending on what other items my chosen brand might sell. As well as these 5 images, I will also be creating a look, of my choice, during a timed assessment which will aim to show off what the brand is all about.
To begin the project, over Christmas I researched into the brand Urban Decay. I chose to look into the background of the company as they are one of my favourite beauty brands, however I am not sure if I will stick with them throughout this project, as it is something that I need to look into further. I am looking forward to this project and learning more about a different area of make-up and hair that I have not really touched upon before. By the end of this project, I hope to have gained an understanding of advertising and branding for make-up and hair, as well as gaining more skills for working in this area of industry.
